Te Pūmanawa o Onehunga – Concept Design & Urban Realm Planning.
PTM Consultants led the concept design for the Onehunga precinct masterplan, delivering innovative transport and urban realm solutions across multiple key streets and public spaces. The project included scheme designs for Onehunga Mall, Upper Municipal Place, Princess Street, Pearce Lane, and off-street bus and car parking facilities, integrating pedestrian priority, cycling connectivity, and vehicle access.
Using advanced GIS, LIDAR, and CAD tools, PTM developed detailed conceptual layouts, vehicle tracking checks, and cross sections in collaboration with landscape architects, stormwater specialists, and local stakeholders. The design also incorporated Healthy Streets assessments, modal filters, and flexible infrastructure strategies to support staged development over a decade, ensuring minimal disruption while enhancing safety, accessibility, and public amenity.
This work forms a critical part of the long-term vision for Onehunga, supporting the transformation of the precinct into a vibrant, connected, and people-focused urban environment.
