PTM Consultants is leading the investigation and scheme design for a new 1.5km footpath along Waiheke Road between Third Avenue and the Waiheke Road/Belle Terrace intersection. The project addresses complex challenges including steep terrain, slope stability, dense vegetation, and existing stormwater infrastructure. Using advanced tools such as Infraworks modelling, GNSS survey methods, and drone fly-throughs, PTM is developing safe and practical solutions that connect existing paths while minimising environmental impacts. This project will enhance pedestrian connectivity and safety on Waiheke Island, with options including retaining walls, boardwalk structures, and potential reserve bypasses under consideration.
